Ballet Day

Kaitlyn is doing so well in her ballet class! Her friends Jeannette and Cecilia have joined her class, so now it is just that much more fun. We watched them through the class window for a bit today and they were working on their forward rolls. Kaitlyn's was perfect, of couse. She has her first recital coming up in a few months and she is very excited about what her costume will look like!

The Day at Grandmommy's

We spent the night at Grandmommy's last night, so we lounged around there for all of Sunday. Since we don't have cable television at home I am always fascinated with all the channels when we go to her house. I watch Law & Order and Lifetime movies until at least 1000 brain cells have evaporated. At least. :)

Carrie and Joshua's Wedding!!

The wedding went beautifully! The Lincoln towncar picked us up at Deanna's house. We got to the church, Blood N Fire just after 6:00pm. The wedding was beautiful. Considering Blood n Fire is little more than an abandoned building, they had done magic with it. There were lights strung all over the rooms, candles everywhere. Amazing. One of the bridesmaids, Erin, sang while everyone walked down the aisle. Another couple of their friends sang another song while they took their first communion as a married couple. It was amazing, amazing, AMAZING! They served Mexican food at their reception and some awesome chocolate and vanilla cake. That was Alex and Kaitlyn's favorite part, of course. Congratulations Joshua and Carrie and have fun in Costa Rico!

Wedding Day Preparations

Alyssa and I left early this morning to go start preparations for Carrie and Joshua's wedding. We got down to Deanna's (the maid of honor) house by lunchtime. A couple of the girls were getting their hair done, including Carrie. Her dress needed to be steamed and we all needed to get our makeup done. 5 girls getting ready for something so huge takes time, and I think we did pretty well only taking about 5 hours. :)

Four Months Old!!

Where does the time go???

Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner

Tonight was Carrie and Joshua's Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner. The Rehearsal started at 5:00 pm and was all the way down on MLK on a Friday, so I anticipated pretty crazy traffic. I had good intentions, but ended up not leaving Cobb until around 4:20 pm. I would have only been about 15 minutes late, but I GOT SO LOST. I had gotten my directions off Mapquest and they were WRONG. I drove all around the ghetto of Atlanta for almost TWO HOURS. I seriously only got to the church around 6:45pm. Couldn't believe it. Fortunately they had gotten a really late start. We went through the ceremony a couple times and then broke for the Rehearsal dinner. There is a BBQ place right down the street called Daddy-Z's. I am not a huge BBQ fan, but I thought it was really good! Definitely if I had to be subjected to pulled pork, this was a great place. Jon really loves the stuff, so maybe I will have to come here again with him. We had a section of the restaurant blocked off and there was a trumpet player playing the blues. Great food, great atmosphere, great friends. It was a good end to a crazy evening.

East Cobb Park

Today we went to East Cobb Park since the weather has been so beautiful. We met some of our AtlantaMommas friends and brought a lunch. Many others brought lunches from McDonald's and Wendy's. They mock us with their fast food! It was really nice. Kaitlyn had so much fun playing and Alyssa fell asleep in her sling. I can't wait for Spring to be here in full force so we can have more park outings soon!

Alyssa laughed her first real laugh tonight while we were watching American Idol. She has been gurgling and squealing quite a bit, but this was her first distinct belly laugh. Second milestone of the week!

Ash Wednesday

Today is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. This year I was going back and forth between giving up caffeinated beverages or fast food. I made a comment to someone about if I decided to give up fast food, I would save money too. They said that if there are selfish motives involved then it kind of defeats the purpose. So in the end, I decided to give up fast food AND the beverages. So today I have a pounding headache due to lack of caffeine. Hello, my name is Jennie and I am addicted to coffee and soda. Excuse me while I go pray for this darn headache to go away.
