A Day of Firsts For Alex!

Alex had a couple of great firsts today. When I picked him up from school we went by the library because I had a couple books on hold. He wanted to check out one of course, so I decided it was time he got his own library card. It was very exciting for him of course and we discussed how important the responsiblity is. Now he just needs a wallet to put it in! For his first checkout he got a book on deep sea creatures and a video about dinosaurs. Let's see if he remembers to return them!

The other first was......Alex lost his first tooth! It has been loose for a little while and Jon checked it and the little thing was barely hanging on! We wiggled it around for a while. Jon wanted to tie and string to it and tie the other end to a doorknob and shut the door. Alex was horrified. I tried to get it out for a minute, but was being super gentle and not getting anywhere. Jon went and got a washcloth, grabbed the tooth, and PULL! It came right out! So exciting! Alex put it under his pillow and the next morning....a shiny JFK coin was there in its place!
